Founded in 2012, electronics brand Ambrane reported impressive growth in FY23, with revenue surging to Rs 249.96 crore, marking a substantial 2X increase from the previous fiscal year’s Rs 120.75 crore.
Incorporated by Ashok Rajpal and Sanjay Rajpal, Ambrane is a homegrown electronics brand headquartered in Delhi. It specializes in a diverse range of products including mobile accessories, audio gadgets, personal care items, and smart devices.
The startup has firmly established itself in both the online and offline markets. Its products are widely available on major e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart and are also stocked in retail chain stores such as Croma, and Sangeeta.
Although Ambrane witnessed a revenue rise, this boost came with a notable rise in expenses. The company’s expenditure doubled to Rs 249.13 crore as compared to FY22’s Rs 117.73 crore.
A large portion of the total expense incurred costs is attributed to material costs (34.53%), followed by advertising and promotional expenses (9.65%) and employee benefits (6.18%).
Due to the widened expenses, the company’s profit dwindled to Rs 51.41 lakh, a significant 77% drop compared to the Rs 2.24 crore profit in FY22. This decline in profitability was reflected in a reduced EBITDA margin of 2.13% and a slight dip in ROCE to 22.63%.
