DotPe records a spike in revenue to Rs 37 Cr in FY23, expenses total to Rs 108 Cr

E-commerce platform DotPe witnessed a revenue of Rs 36.9 crore in FY23. While expenses for the fiscal year amounted to Rs 108 crore, the company saw a loss of about Rs 71 crore. It saw a revenue of Rs 24 crore from operations, a spike when compared to the previous year’s Rs 13.5 crore. In expenses, the company spent about Rs 24 crore in employee benefit costs and over Rs 5 crore in advertisements and promotional costs.

The previous financial year, DotPe saw a revenue of Rs 17 crore with expenses of Rs 120.4 crore and losses amounting to Rs 103.3 crore. In FY22, it saw employee benefits and advertisement costs taking up the top two spots in expenses amounting to Rs 57 crore and Rs 30.7 crore respectively.

Gurgaon-based DotPe provides digital transformation and commerce solutions to offline retailers of all shapes and sizes. It additionally provides customer engagement services like customer support, logistics, QR solution etc. Founded in 2019 by Anurag Gupta and Shailaz Nag, the company has empowered over 7.5 million merchants till date.

With a valuation of Rs 1980 crore, it has raised a total of Rs 715.5 crore over 3 funding rounds. Its latest round was raised on September 2022 from a Series B round and saw Temasek as its lead investor.

Co-founders Anurag Gupta and Shailaz Nag hold over 4% and 17% of the company respectivey. Among other shareholders, investor PayU has control over 20% of the company.
