Haus and Kinder’s FY23 revenue grows 1.2X, expenses rise 23%

Mumbai-based Haus & Kinder witnessed a revenue of Rs 30.25 crore in FY23, a 1.2X rise when compared to its previous fiscal year. The same fiscal year it saw almost all of its revenue coming in from operations.

Founded by Saket Dhankar and Kanupriya Anand, Haus & Kinder is a D2C brand that offers home textile products. Its product portfolio includes cushions, blankets, bedsheets, curtains, towels etc. It also offers kids-focused products such as swaddles, bedding and nesting, and clothing among others.

The 2018 founded brand saw its expenses rising 23.3% to Rs 36.6 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2023. It spent over 50% of the total expenses on materials and over 20% on advertisements and promotional costs. Previously in FY22, the company’ expenses were Rs 29.7 crore spending more than Rs 18 crore and Rs 4 crore on cost of materials and ads and promotions.

As for the company’s losses, it saw a 1.7X spike in losses in FY23 as compared to the preceding fiscal year. Its EBITDA margins stood at -21.05% and ROCE at -298.81%.

The e-commerce company raised a total of Rs 9.90 crore in its maiden and only fundraise led by Shaival Desai. Post the infusion of the amount raised, founder Saket Dhankar held over 40% of the company shares.

It competes against the likes of Design Café, HomeLane, and Pepperfry.
